How to get readable text in AI images (prompt included)

Get clean, correctly spelled text in AI images: quote the exact words, set placement and contrast, then generate the visual with GPT Image 2 in Deepnia.

To get readable text in an AI image, keep the message short, provide the exact wording and describe its placement clearly. Check every character after generation. For text-heavy visuals, generate with GPT Image 2 in Deepnia Image; for menus, brochures or flyers, use Imprimerie IA, Deepnia’s print-ready layout tool.

Try the example prompt below in Deepnia Image with GPT Image 2, built for text-rich images.

The right method depends on the job. A fictional shop sign inside an illustration is a different task from a menu, an address or a paragraph of instructions. Start by deciding whether the text belongs inside the depicted scene or simply needs to appear on top of the finished image.

Separate scene lettering from layout text

Scene lettering is part of the picture: a sign above a doorway, a short phrase on a mug or letters arranged on a desk. Its perspective, shadows and material should fit the scene. Generating it can be useful for a creative concept when you can inspect and correct the result.

Layout text includes headlines, dates, amounts and calls to action. These often work better as separate text elements because they need precise wording and may change later. A beautiful background does not need to be regenerated because an event starts an hour later than originally planned.

Write the final wording before the prompt

Approve the message in a normal text document first. Check spelling, punctuation, capitalization and names before asking a model to place the words in a picture. Otherwise, you risk spending time improving an image that faithfully reproduces a mistake in your own brief.

Shorten the message where possible. A compact title is easier to evaluate at thumbnail size than a full sentence squeezed into a small corner. Put supporting details in the surrounding layout instead of asking the image to carry the entire explanation.

Separate the exact wording from your instructions. For example, state “The sign reads: OPEN STUDIO” and then describe the sign’s location and appearance. Avoid mixing several alternate slogans into one prompt unless you genuinely want all of them visible.

Describe hierarchy and placement

Tell the model which text is most important and where it should go. “A large centered heading on a plain cream poster” is clearer than “include some professional typography.” If there are two lines, indicate their order and relative prominence.

Choose a simple treatment for the first attempt. Strongly curved text, deep perspective, decorative flourishes and textured surfaces make proofreading harder. A clean sign or poster is a useful starting point before attempting lettering wrapped around a complex object.

Leave space around the words. Text pressed against an edge can be cropped in a card or social preview. A busy background can also reduce legibility even when every letter is correct. Typography needs a composition that supports reading, not only correct character shapes.

Try a short, controlled lettering exercise

Picture a fictional creative event called Open Studio. Example prompt:

Create a simple editorial poster with a cream background and dark navy lettering. The only words are “OPEN STUDIO”, written exactly as shown, on two centered lines. Make OPEN smaller than STUDIO. Use clear, bold lettering with generous spacing and wide margins. Add one small abstract mustard-colored shape below the words. Do not include a date, logo or additional text.

This brief limits the number of decisions and makes errors easy to spot. For lettering, choose GPT Image 2, built for text-rich images.

Generate it in Deepnia Image

Open Deepnia Image, select GPT Image 2 and paste the OPEN STUDIO prompt above.

Proofread characters before judging the design

Read the output slowly against the approved source text. Check missing letters, duplicated characters, substitutions and unwanted extra words. Then inspect spacing and line breaks. Something that looks like convincing typography from a distance may not say what you intended.

For names, amounts and dates, compare character by character rather than trusting a quick visual impression. Watch for similar-looking symbols and punctuation. A polished graphic does not make an incorrect telephone number or event date less consequential.

If the image contains text in a language you do not read confidently, have the wording reviewed by someone who does before publication. Do not assume that an attractive script or familiar-looking letter shapes establish correctness.

Correct the wording without damaging the composition

In Deepnia Image, upload the image, choose Nano Banana Pro and request a narrowly defined correction: replace the incorrect word with the exact intended word while preserving the layout and illustration. Recheck the entire image afterward, because a correction can introduce changes elsewhere.

Keep the approved wording outside the image as your source of truth. Do not copy a questionable generated version back into your text document. Save earlier image versions so you can recover a good composition if the edit makes the layout worse.

Set a limit on attempts. If lettering remains unreliable, stop regenerating the complete design. Remove the text or generate a clean background, then add the message in Imprimerie IA, which lays out your exact wording.

Use a background without text when accuracy matters

For the same event, prepare the background alone. Example prompt:

Create a minimal cream-and-navy editorial background for a creative event poster. Keep the central area plain and spacious for a large headline added later. Place a small mustard abstract shape near the lower edge. Include no letters, words, numbers, logos or signs.

Add the approved headline in Imprimerie IA. Ask for a text size that stays readable in the intended placement. Keep the background image so another language or a revised date does not require rebuilding the entire visual. For a complete flyer, see how to create a clear promotional leaflet with AI; for menus, see AI for restaurants.

This does not mean generated lettering is always unsuitable. It means the production method should match the consequences of an error. A decorative fictional sign permits experimentation; booking information, packaging instructions and frequently changing offers need tighter control.

Plan each language version separately

Do not assume a translated headline will fit the same line breaks. A short phrase in one language may become longer in another. Prepare each version early, then check their visual balance rather than shrinking one until it becomes hard to read.

Localize the complete message, including dates, punctuation and calls to action where relevant. Keep approved language-specific text files beside the layout. A bilingual campaign should not accidentally combine a French headline with an English instruction or the wrong event details.

If the picture itself contains a sign that must change languages, plan separate assets. If the wording is merely a headline over the picture, reusable artwork plus separate text layers is often easier to maintain. Either way, review each finished version on its own.

Check the exported result at its real size

View the finished asset in the destination layout, not only zoomed in inside an editor. Make sure the message is readable on a small screen and that automatic cropping has not removed part of a word. Inspect the uploaded version if compression changes the edges of the lettering.

Keep essential information available outside the image where the channel allows it. For example, repeat event details in the accompanying post or page text rather than making the image the only source. This also makes corrections and copying information easier for the reader.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI image model is best for text?

GPT Image 2 is built for text-rich images and graphic design, up to 4K. Quote the exact words and proofread every character.

Can I generate a long paragraph inside a picture?

You can request it, but a layout in Imprimerie IA is usually a more controllable way to present substantial copy. Consider readability, editing and language changes before embedding a paragraph in an image.

Is a sharp image enough to make text readable?

No. Correct wording, spacing, contrast, size and the surrounding composition all matter. A high-resolution image can still contain misspellings or text too small for its final placement.

Choose the method that keeps the message correct

Start with approved wording, then decide whether it belongs in the scene or in a separate layout. Open Deepnia Image, pick GPT Image 2 and paste the OPEN STUDIO prompt. Use the prompt-writing guide to clarify placement, and move to targeted correction when a single word needs fixing.
