AI for trainers: course materials and narration

Trainers: create slides, worked examples, practice tasks and narration with AI, and turn your PDF or PowerPoint files into audio with Deepnia tools.

To use AI for training materials, begin with something the learner should be able to do. Build a worked example, a practice task and clear review criteria, then prepare the visuals and narration needed to explain them. Start with one small, reviewable module before expanding into a larger collection of materials.

Deepnia covers each step: Imprimerie IA, Deepnia's print-ready document tool, for your slides; Voice & Audio with Open TTS for the narration; and Talking Avatar for a face-to-camera video.

Define an observable learning objective

“Understand professional communication” is too broad to guide a short activity. A more useful objective is: “Write a follow-up email that states the context, makes a clear request and identifies the next step without inventing an agreement.”

Specify the audience, prior knowledge and delivery context. A reference sheet used during a workshop serves a different purpose from a narrated video watched independently on a phone.

Our fictional example is a short module for adult beginners on writing a follow-up email after a meeting. The task is to communicate accurately, not to produce an impressive-looking message with unsupported commitments.

Supply an approved content base

Give the model the rules and source material you want to teach. For a workplace procedure, use authorized documents checked by the relevant subject expert. Do not accept an invented internal policy, statistic or expert quotation simply because it sounds plausible.

For the sample module, the rules are straightforward: explain the context, make the request specific, identify the next step and avoid adding commitments absent from the meeting notes.

The fictional notes say that a catalogue visual needs review, Nora is preparing a revision and no delivery date has been agreed. That missing date matters. A good follow-up must not turn uncertainty into a promise to finish on Friday.

Use fictional examples when real learner or customer data is unnecessary. You can recreate the difficulty of a workplace task without uploading private messages or identifying the people involved.

Keep the approved rules close to the draft materials. They provide a reference when checking whether the generated example teaches what you intended.

Show a mistake and explain the correction

A useful learning resource demonstrates reasoning rather than merely listing advice. Give learners a concrete example they can inspect.

Counterexample:

Hello, thanks for the meeting. As agreed, everything will be finished on Friday. Could you look at this quickly?

Two problems stand out: the date was not agreed, and the request does not identify what needs reviewing.

An improved version could read:

Hello, following our meeting, Nora is preparing a revised catalogue visual. When it is available, could you review it and send us your comments? The delivery date is still to be confirmed. Thank you.

The revised message preserves the known information and leaves the unknown date unresolved. Explain that decision explicitly. Otherwise, learners may notice the more polished wording without understanding the accuracy principle behind it.

Avoid presenting stylistic preferences as universal rules. A shorter or differently phrased response can also be appropriate if it meets the same substantive criteria.

Give the visuals and narration different jobs

Do not make every slide contain the entire spoken script. A visual can show the structure or highlight a passage, while narration explains why a choice matters.

ResourceRole in the fictional module
Opening viewState the objective and the message structure
Example viewDisplay the flawed email for inspection
Correction viewShow the revision and explain key changes
Practice sheetIntroduce a new situation to solve
Answer guideDescribe success criteria and one possible response

Lay out these views with Imprimerie IA, which creates ready-to-present slides. To turn them into a short video, follow the method to create a short AI explainer video.

Choose illustrations for explanatory value. If a decorative image does not help someone understand the task, removing it may make the material easier to use.

Request a coherent module, not a pile of content

Example prompt:

Prepare a short training sequence in clear English for adult beginners. Objective: write a follow-up email with context, a specific request and a next step, without inventing commitments. Use only the supplied rules and meeting notes. Propose three visual supports, a separate narration script, a new practice task and an explained answer guide. List missing information. Do not invent statistics, quotations or certifications. Map each practice requirement to an observable review criterion. Treat the result as a draft for trainer approval.

Check the relationship between the objective and the task. A vocabulary quiz does not demonstrate that someone can write the required message. Ask the learner to perform the action you intend to teach.

Write narration that explains the decisions

Use natural spoken language. For the fictional example, the narrator might say: “Friday sounds precise, but that date does not appear in the notes. We replace it with an accurate statement: the date is still to be confirmed.”

That explanation adds value beyond reading the email aloud. It makes the reasoning visible and connects the correction to the learning objective.

Test a short passage before producing the entire narration. Listen for names, pacing and the time needed to inspect the displayed example; if a name sounds wrong, see how to fix name pronunciation in AI voiceovers. If the visual changes, review the script too: a voice describing an older version creates unnecessary confusion.

Narrate your modules in your own voice with Voice cloning. Open TTS, the default voice model, also provides the transcript and SRT subtitles for the narration.

To turn your materials into audio, upload the PDF, Word or PowerPoint file to Deepnia's document-to-audio tool: you approve the transcript before generation. Keep the approved versions identified so the correct audio accompanies the correct example.

Create practice that requires transfer

Give learners a different situation rather than asking them to reproduce the sample. For instance, a quotation needs an additional product reference, Sam is waiting for that reference and no response date has been agreed.

Ask for a follow-up email using those facts. Review it against four criteria: the context is identifiable, the request is specific, the next step is understandable and no fact has been invented.

More than one answer may satisfy those criteria. Your answer guide should separate essential meaning from optional phrasing. This makes feedback more useful than treating an AI-generated model answer as the only acceptable wording.

If a learner misses a criterion, identify the missing element rather than simply marking the whole response wrong. The feedback should show what to revise and why.

Review accessibility and the final format

For narrated video, plan captions suited to the delivery context. Storytelling builds them into the film it edits, and Open TTS exports an SRT file with the narration: proofread them against the audio before release.

Also check that the displayed text is readable and that instructions do not depend only on color. “Review the sentence highlighted in red” is clearer when you identify the sentence in words as well.

Test the material on the intended device. A dense worksheet that looks comfortable on a large monitor may be difficult to use on a phone.

Pilot the activity before scaling production

Observe whether someone from the intended audience can complete the task. Note where they hesitate and which explanation they need. Positive comments about the appearance are useful, but they are not evidence that the learning objective has been met.

Save corrections against the material, narration and answer-guide versions. When a rule changes, update all three together. Expanding production before resolving a confusing example can multiply the same problem across a course.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI create a complete course in one request?

It can propose an overall draft, but that requires detailed review. Start with a short module to test the sources, level and activities before multiplying the materials.

How do I turn a PDF course into audio?

Upload it to Deepnia's document-to-audio tool, which also accepts Word and PowerPoint files: you review the transcript, then Deepnia generates the narration.

Does every topic need a video?

No. A worksheet, an explained example or an educational carousel may be sufficient. Choose the format that supports the learning action, not the one that produces the most media.

Start with one objective, one example and one practice task, then prepare your materials with Imprimerie IA and their narration in Voice & Audio. Validate the learning activity before expanding the production batch.
